I caught him and Oscar Brown Jr, separately, when I lived in LA in the early 60s, at Sunset Strip clubs! They were so good and the ladies loved him. And me too. They were so cool.
The problem was tbat my girl said I dinn't have their soul. Of course, I didn't; they were black. .
Still nice to listen to, but was better then, routine can't replace workin' to get there for the first time, for both of them.

I didn't know taht lou passed away!! it's a very sad news. i started to listen his music one year ago, and he was a greatest vocal genius in jazz music!!
