Mall Gaborone (Barolong Seboni, Botswana)

Memoria del Festival Internacional de Poesía de Medellín. Barolong Seboni nació en Botswana el 27 de abril de 1957. Poeta, dramaturgo, profesor universitario y periodista. Entre sus libros publicados se encuentran Images of the sun (Imágenes del sol), 1986; Thinking allowed (Pensamiento permitido); Looking at tomorrow (Mirando al mañana) y Windsongs of the Kgalagadi (Canciones del viento del Kgalagadi), 1995, éste último acerca de sus raíces, su cultura y la política del presente. Miembro fundador de la Asociación de Escritores de Botswana y de la niversidad de Botswana, a la cual ha estado vinculado como Lector en el Departamento de Humanidades y como Profesor en el Departamento de Inglés. Ha trabajado así mismo en la radio y como columnista en varios periódicos. Ha fundado y editado diversas revistas y periódicos a través de los años, entre ellos: Marang, Mokwadi, Mahube y Rays of Culture.

The sound of Barolong's voice reciting his poem transports me sraight back to The Mall in Gaborone, where I was part of that tapestry for so many years....I love it Barolong, thank you.
