I don't know if anybody really gets this song or the Video. The Bank Job is really just a comment on our local economy and the state of our financial institutions. Purely fiction, a cinematic excursion, just for fun. I've heard the comment that it's disturbing from a few folks who have been involved and/or the victim of Bank Robberies, and believe me it is not intended to glorify the perpetrators of these crimes. I apologize to those who have taken offense.
I didn't make up the fact that AWBC is being de-listed, of course barring a reverse split that will rob the investors and stock holders of more value.
This song was written in 2002, and based on the Tom Grant article "The Murder of Carissa Benway", and is a comment on our society, the hopes, dreams and the depths of the disease and depravity of both the perpetrators and the victims. The article appeared in The Local Planet, a Spokane weekly. Both The Local Planet Online, as well as this article, have since been removed from circulation.
This song is dedicated to the memory of Carissa, in hopes that we start to get it right.
