This is video from the funeral procession in Redlands to honor Army Sgt. Raymond Alcaraz. For some reason the Redlands Fire Dept DID NOT block off the 2 blocks where folks gathered to pay their respects. Cars were driving by and not stopping as the funeral procession and hearse passed us. Some of the vets around who wanted to salute the procession had to play peek a boo through the traffic.

  • Sad...

    The street is empty.

This is how we treat our heroes in Redlands...

  • @loserman623 As some have pointed out, there were more people down by the mall. Where I took this video it there were just a couple people lined up from the football stadium to University St. The FD did block the westbound Citrus traffic at University but let the eastbound traffic through which disrupted those who were trying to salute or see the funeral procession. Is it too much to ask the FD or PF to block traffic on CItrus for 10 mins so we can see the procession?

  • I was one of the riders who escorted his body from the Ontario Airport. At almost every single overpass (28 miles of freeway) there was at least one fire truck and a crew saluting this fallen hero. Don't let this short clip pretend to show everything. There were more than 90 riders. The procession was about 1/2 mile long.

It is tragic that these drivers did not ALL pull over, but some did. Some did even on the freeway.

  • @dldimick92683 The Patriot Riders were great to see. Too bad we had to play peek a boo through traffic to see you honoring this warrior. Redlands PD or FD should have shut down Citrus for just 10 minutes to allow those standing on the shoulder to honor this hometown soldier.

  • @loserman623 Please don't let this video mislead you. The street is empty here at the 10 and University but there were a ton of people further down towards old town. I was participated in the procession and the show of support by the Redlands community was VERY moving.

  • Yeah I agree people need to learn to pull over like they should. I was the silver car that was stuck behind the idiot silver van that wasn't part of the funeral. Thank you Sgt. Raymond Alcaraz for your ultimate sacrifice you will be remembered. Thanks for the upload of video.
