As I was walking back to my bus I saw Nick and Joe arguing with each other.Instead of doing the smart thing and walking away,I made my way over to them and said to Nick,"What's going on?"
"Tell her,Joe."
I looked at Joe and tilted my head to the side,"Tell me what?"
He looked away from me,"Nothing,Demi." I opened my mouth to speak,but Nick yelled,"Tell her,Joe!" I jumped and took a step away from them before they came to blows with each other.Joe glared at him and yelled back,"Why don't you shut your mouth,Nick,it's none of your business!"
"It IS my business!"
"Why?"
"Because SHE'S my business,Joe! Demi is the only reason I stay around and put up with you nowadays! As long as she's here,I don't feel alone! And she agrees with me when I say you've become a total prick!"
Joe's mouth gaped opened and he turned to me,"Is that true,Demi? You think I'm a prick?"
I looked down at my feet;None of this should be happening. Nick and Joe shouldn't be fighting because of me.I looked into his eyes and whispered,"Yes." His eyes started tearing up and he looked away from me,"Fine then.You two have fun,you deserve each other," and he walked away.

About an hour later,I found myself knocking on the boys' bus.When Joe opened the door his eyes were puffy and red.Before I got the chance to say anything,he slammed the door in my face.I knocked again and when he didn't open it,I said,"Joe? Joe,please open the door?" When there was no answer,I started rambling,"Joe,I'm sorry about today.I was just angry with you and I didn't mean what I said...I'm just so confused right now.I don't know what to feel,what to think,or what to say...I don't know anything anymore,Joe.I just...God,I just still love you so much and---" I didn't get to finish my sentence.Joe had opened the door and pulled me in for a kiss.A long,passionate kiss.I kissed him back,but I started to remember why I was so angry in the first place; I didn't know how I felt about Joe anymore.I didn't know how I felt about anyone anymore,but here I am,kissing him as if we were going to die tomorrow.I pulled away from him and whispered,"Joe,we can't do this."
"Why not?"
"Because you have a girlfriend and we---"
"I don't to be with her anymore."
"What?"
"I don't want...to be...with her...anymore."
"You don't have to say it slow,I'm not dumb."
He chuckled,"I never said you were dumb."
I looked down at my hands and started playing with my fingers,"Are you still mad about what happened earlier?"
"Demi...I was thinking about it...and you were right."
I shook my head,"No...No,Joe,I had no right to call you something you're not."
"I was acting like one.I didn't see it at first but that's only because I didn't want to," he said as he leaned in for another kiss.I stepped away from him and took a deep breath,"I can't do this...I love you,but I can't do this."
"But---"
"No...You never let me finish what I was saying earlier...I still love you...but I have some lingering feelings for Nick..."
"You...what?"
"You heard what I said...I can't help it...I just---"
"My brother?...My younger brother?...How could you guys do this to me?"
"Do what?...We haven't done anything."
"Yet!...You haven't done anything YET! But I know you want to.I know Nick wants to.I know you both had this planned out from the beginning!...'Hey,let's make Joe look like a total fool,Demi.' 'Sure,Nick,he deserves it anyway!' "
"No,Joe,that's not what's going on!"
"It may as well be! You and Nick...you guys are unbelievable! You're trying so hard to make sure I break the way you did! You're trying to so hard to make sure my heart is shattered into a million pieces just like yours! You're trying so hard to make sure I'm perceived as some jackass!"
At this point I was already crying...again,but that didn't stop me from raising my hand and slapping him across the face,"No...We don't have to make you look like an asshole,Joe...you do that perfectly fine on your own."
