"Aspire!" documents 12th grade students as they study the role of race in academic achievement. The students read and discuss the work of foremost education scholar Dr. Pedro Noguera (New York University), undertake critical research projects that investigate how the achievement gap impacts their school and their lives, view a video of Dr. Noguera speaking about the achievement gap, write essays summarizing Dr. Noguera's speech, and conduct a question and answer session with Dr. Noguera during his visit to their school.
