Hey good luck. Should I pay my employees "fairly" or automate everything with new technology or send it to India for $4 an hour and keep the profits? Hmmm, what to do...

Peg Luksik for Senate!

I agree. I think the best thing we could do is get rid of unions completely.

CEO's are not the problem, just scapegoats. Government involvement is what screws everything up...

Perhaps unions work better with management in Japan because the companies are run in more responsible manner and think more long term. The CEO's in Japan are well-compensated but not at an absurd level like in the U.S.

rightdemocrat- I agree that Japanese trade unions are highly effective, but that effectiveness stems from their sensitivity to the economic situation and close relationship with corporations, unlike the stifling, politically oriented unions like the UAW.

If labor unions killed jobs, factories would be moving to the so-called "right to work" states rather than overseas. Germany and Japan have stronger unions than the U.S. while retaining a strong industrial base.
We need the Employee Free Choice Act, new trade policies that protect American jobs and single payer health care. Restoring a balance between labor and management will help the middle class.
Health care costs and one-way trade is killing American manufacturing - not unions.
This douche wont be reelected as a Democrat just like he wouldn't have won as a Republican, but A for effort on his part for the whole switching parties bullshit!

The so-called "Employee Free Choice Act":
* Invasion of Privacy -- it kills the private ballot
* Forced union membership
* Criminalizes business who don't submit.
Labor price-fixing cartels are industry killers.
