"The Sixteenth Amendment declares that Congress shall have power to levy and collect taxes on income, 'from whatever source derived' without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration. It was not the purpose or the effect of that amendment to bring any new subject within the taxing power. Congress already had the power to tax all incomes." Bowers, Collector v. Kerbaugh-Empire Co

There is no law the illegal global shadow government that is planning to enslave us in a cashless society with microchips in our arms are responsible for this.
It's the fact that, when congress introduced and "ratified" the 16th amendment, they didn't edit a previous article in the constitution (Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution) that says the federal gov't may not impose a direct tax, but only indirect taxes. The income tax is a direct tax. In 1916 there was a court case where the us supreme court found that the 16th amedment gave no new way for congress to tax.

that is why I believe asking"where is the law" giving congress those enhanced powers to directly tax wage earners is a valid and legitimate question. Change will never come about if no one ever questions the powers that be.

By true definition, wages are NOT the same as income. Individuals earn wages, businesses earn income.
