In late 1959, Sonny Turner replaced Tony Williams as the lead singer of the original Platters. Chosen out of 100 singers who auditioned, Sonny at the young age of 19, toured the world with "The Platters" bringing their music to people of all nations. Sonny brought The Platters back to the pop charts in the 1960's with such hits as "I love you 1000 Times.

  • I was in Jr. Highschool and it was near the end of the school year and we lived on the 14th flr. in the projects in the Bronx facing NJ and the air was clear, there was a breeze, it was 8am, I was looking out the window and this song came on and I was in love! when you're 14, any sweet, beautiful song that came on the radio BAM! you're in looooove! And this was truly a sweet beautiful song!!!!!!!! Thank you.

  • Hey I am just now hearing this song, incredible! I live in the Carolinas and this is considered a beach song. Lots of old soul music fits that bill like "Little Red Book" and "With this Ring". Great songs you can shag (dance) to. I belive I will listen to it one more time!
