@tombuttner If a cover is supposed to be just like the original then whats the point of making a cover at all? Might as well just stick with the original.

@kdito Because you love the song, and enjoy playing it, not because you think your version is better. I'm not saying that's what you're thinking, but like someone else said, the rhythm is very Pop-y.

Just think: if you wrote a song, played and recorded it a very specific way, which Robert Pollard, and the rest of GBV were known to do, would you want someone to take the words and notes of that song, and change the "feel" and the rhythm, so that it hardly resembles the song you wrote?

@tombuttner I don't think my version is better. I tossed this off with minimal preparation over a year ago. You're welcome to dislike it. But the notion that a cover must be the same as the original, is complete BS no matter who originally recorded it or who is covering it. If I wrote a song that somebody covered I would be honoured that somebody cared enough to do so, no matter what the end result was. I've certainly heard cover songs that change a lot more than just the "feel" of the music.
