@carmaster366 so you know the exact cost to operate a 757 vs a 737? It has nothing to do with the noise. IF the 757 was the best aircraft to send they would send it. B/f the 737-7 they had 737-8 which could have handled the route, but the 757 had more capacity. When DL merged with NW that put flights to/from MSP, DET, ATL, and SLC so a smaller aircraft was a better seat/mile cost for the company. Trust me, I understand this and have studied it.

@carmaster366 again, i don't know where your knowledge comes from but you are incorrect again.

Spools up the engine because of short runway and noise ordinance in Newport Beach - greater ascent rate need more speed

most of the planes that takeoff at SNA Leaves there breaks on while spooling Delta now Flies the 737-700 to Atlanta because of the loud noise due to the 757

@carmaster366 No. 7377 has better seat/mile than 757 during certain days of week. They still send a 757 occasionally. It has nothing to do with the noise.

yes the 737-700 are more efficient to use and btw its not the reason of the seat/miles i don't know where u got that from but Ur incorrect Flights to SNA and from SNA to ATL are always full u should see the amount of elite flyers on this route but Delta is using there 757 On Longer Routes and basing there aircraft at Hubs where 757 are needed so they use the 737-700 on this route because the aircraft is capable of long flights and short runways and they also use the A319 on this route.
