talaga bang nais n'yong mapanatiling buhay ang mga awiting ito? start downloading the songs with the lyrics displayed, practice them put them in cd, play them in private gatherings , sing them well and convince the majority that singing traditional songs is cool. get the new generation started on the fad.

ako po eh ngayon lang natutong mag-appreciate ng ganitong music. i'd like to cover these songs and turn them into like Jim Ruiz or Daily Planet. Kundiman is not baduy. this is the only genre ng music na pwede nating ipagmalaki na contribution natin sa mundo ng musica. if Jamaica has reggae, Germany has industrial rock. we have Kundiman to be proud of.

Hello to all. Ive been living in the United States for almost 30 yrs. Ive listened to all sorts of music most of my life. But when I heard this song I immediately identified this was my heritage. These songs must be played in a radio station that focused mainly on our traditional music so that it will not fade in history. The young generation growing up must appreciate the difference between the trashy ones and the clean and mellow songs.

This is from an artist's point of view.:>

Amazing selection you got here philclassic. I must admit karamihan ngayon ko lang narinig, pero I'm enjoying every one of it.

@heelrunner Don't worry, we have a great taste for music.

I was born in the Philippines many years back. My Dad introduced me to the songs of Ruben Tagalog when I was a little girl. After 40 years here in Canada and the US, every lyric of each of his kundimans and all the balitaw songs are still in my heart and in my memory. I will never exchange Philippine music for any other. The Philippine songs are the very best. I am happy to have been blessed to catch part of the most beautiful era of culture the Philippines has ever had. We need a revival!

perfect.
I'm 19 years old and I listen to these songs. I put them in my phone. Btw, I love the Filipino costume back then. So opulent yet fresh and innocent. ^_^ Thanks for the upload!

@heelrunner : Sana dumami ang katulad mo. Nagsimula akong makinig ng mga Balitaw at Kundiman noong 1st year high school ako way back early 80's. Nag-ipon ako ng baon ko para makabili ng mga kopya in cassette tape format then plaka later on.
