What kind of bait did you use? Do you ever crab on the Gunpowder River?

This is like porn for crabbers. It's January, so I have 5 months until this season opens up again. I come back to this video a lot to tease myself until then.

I must say I am learning a great deal from these videos, because I plan on using a trot line this year for the first time. Question I have when using a trot line. Merlin is 1200 feet hottie rebated on the water or do you just when you out abate you just stop using
and some a trot lines are as high as $300 I'm making my own what are some ideas use the floats all bullies
thank you for this video

Throck - You aren't allowed to give away more than you are allowed to keep. With 1 license, you have to throw back anything over 1 bushel, not give them away. Looks like you had a pretty good day though!

@BigNaturalCrabinc Can you explain this please
-
Clearly you were successful, but that boat is going about twice as fast as we used to go. My buddy, best friend in the world, would go ballistic if I let even one crab drop without netting it (legal size of course) and we were always off the water before it was that light. Great video, but I am stunned at how fast y'all ran that line.

I don't know who told you one bushel per boat but they are wrong. 2 license 2 bushel per boat max. Its only one bushel if the boat is licensed or one person is licensed. If 2 persons are licensed it is perfectly legal to keep 2 bushels. I suggest you go to the DNR website for the facts. Damn commercials..learn the laws

@Schwarz2448 i never said give them away i said instead of giving them away toss them back... but who would catch people taking females anyway which is why i said out of respect i toss them back.
Thanks for the comments, the motor is at full idle so the only way to go slower is to drag a sea anchor which may be worth a try. We always dump sooks (females) and agree that's the way to preserve the population. We only crab for recreation (and good eating) once a week but it seems like the commercial guys get bent out of shape pretty easily if you do anything more productive then traps. Regards for good crabbing and safe boating.

Half bushel over on the boat is still illegal no matter if you gave them away or not. Damn recs learn the laws!

@BigNaturalCrabinc We gave them away as we exceeded one bushel. Never had more than a bushel on board.
