while getting say 800 hp from a 3l turbo charged engine is impressive, for me no other engine satisfies me more than the Chevrolet V8

@low72 It's for crankcase ventilation, to allow pressure to be emitted out of the engine. Typically one valve cover would have a oil filler in the grommet and on the other valve cover a PCV valve hooked to a hose redirecting the gases back to the air intake (re-breather). That's typically the stock smog setup. High power motors have higher crankcase ventilation requirements and many who build moderate motors don't design them worrying about smog so they just put filters in the grommets.

Man this thing was so awesome i just bought all new big mutha thumpr hyd. roller setup for my tunnel rammed 427....sounds great!!!!!!!
