@TrippyScarecrow The main protagonist is named Caleb. He was killed and buried by his master, Tchernobog, but Caleb rises from his grave and starts on a crusade for retribution -- to kill his former master. Basically he's undead so that's one of the reasons why he's so cold and unforgiving to everyone around him.

What language are they yelling in?

@Sniffer194 Don't know if it has a name but either way it's just a fictitious language. It was made-up only for the game.

@ClessxAlghazanth Get DOSBox. You might want to buy the "Good Old Games" pack to make things more easier for yourself.

@Forsete
thanks for the reply. But dosbox runs games slow on my computer (like rise of the triad) to an unplayable extent , but no surprises I guess since it is an emulator of a dos pc system...
Is there any other way to run , natively I mean on xp ? something like winquake or duke3d source port ?
thanks again

@ClessxAlghazanth If it runs slow it usually depends on your system specifications. To run games at an acceptable framerate on DOSBox you really need a powerful computer. Yeah, it's annoying and a huge drawback on an otherwise awesome program.
Unfortunately the game developers/publishers never released the source code to this game so there was never any source port, such as those you described, made for this game.

@ClessxAlghazanth There's one way (though it's a bit complicated to set up correctly) that you can use to play the game on XP. Google "blood VDMSound" and there should be a site called "buildxp . deathmask . net".
This is at least one way to get the game to work without the need for DOSBox. Follow the instructions carefully and you should get it to work correctly. I tried it myself years ago and it worked fine.
If you have any questions you could try asking at their forum.
