  • Mark Craney was an octupus on the kit. He is missed.

  • I am frozen after listening to Apploosa the sound of the band and Mark Craney 's sound, " WOW" one of the greatest. Those Hi-Hats and Toms sound, unmistakable Craney. Totally forgot about Gino Vanelli. Back then the musicianship was over the top. What happen to the art of drumming and the legacy of Mark, Gadd, Cobham etc. Today the young ones don't take risks like these guys did. Instead we have idiot rapers and fools playing instruments. SAD!!! Gino and brother, you guys did it. BRAVO!!!!

  • Awesome! Daryl Steurmer too!

  • RAWK!! This is how to put on a show!

Mark Craney & the band are tearing it up

  • I saw a Gino's show in Las Vegas '79-'80 and it was an amazing musical experience to see it live. As a musician myself these type of music is for very especial tune ears. The drumming, guitar leaks and even the beautiful astronomic background voices of the "Waters Sisters". What a treat.

  • I saw Mark in 1980 in Minneapolis with Jethro Tull on the A tour. You can find clips on here. He was unbelievable, playing different licks every bar and stealing the show along side Eddie Jobson.

  • Gino always had excellent drummers (Casey, Graham, Mark etc.) I think the drumming is what attracted me to his music along with great melodies, vocals, and superior instrumentation for that era. Brother to Brother blew me away first time I heard it. Still blows me away. Gino was way ahead of his time and deserves much more credit for his contribution to the music scene. I would consider Gino Vanelli and Donald Fagen as my top two artists of all time. Both are geniuses in their own right.

  • I'm a long time Gino and Mark fan (being a drummer myself). Craney used the Ludwig Cortex series kit in those days. What's left unsung are the incredible sound engineers (studio/live) that mixed Mark's kit so perfectly (given the limits of the sound equipment available in those days). That Cortex series didn't have bottom heads; a late 70's thing that went away and never came back. Crisp sound that accentuated every nuance that Mark created.

  • Es ist mit das Beste, was Vannelli & Brüder in ihrer unglaublichen Art hervorgebracht haben. Macht nur Spaß... Danke Gott, daß es Vannellis zu unserer Zeit gab.

  • I saw Gino on this tour, and he was better than what you are seeing here. I went with my two best friends and we all had on white knit suits, the open shirt, platforms, ect, wow, I wish I had a picture, my kids would be impressed.

The band was killing it and Gino was too.

  • Mark Craney played with out-of-this-world dynamics... what a drummer. Sorely missed. Awesome music!

  • My God, he's just so perfect! The most talented musician to ever come out of Canada! I'm kinda glad he's toned down as he has matured, it makes his music more relevant to the people who have been following him since square one.
