By the way, I'd never believe how many people are named Graham Nelson. In the video I'm referring to, obviously, the one who created Inform 7. Which is awesome.

@planetfall666 my problem was that there are only 10 directions (n, ne, u, d, etc...) to shoot at instead of a nearly infinite number in a 3d game, but maybe with some kind of coordinate system... meh, too hard for me to code anyway
