go to system settings and system information and it should have something on the end like M33, OE-A, OE-B, OR OE-C if it has letters at the end its most likely a custom firmware if not then its not a custom firmware.

well i would go with the psp 2000 cuz it can be easily hackable there working with an exploit with the 3000 but right now i would go with a 2000 and a pandora battery.

well theres most likely not that much of a difference but 3.80 probably has better iso compatibility.
