With partners, The Nature Conservancy is studying undersea life at Southwest Oregon's Redfish Rocks, starting with seaweeds and the animals that rely on them. Last summer, scientists in scuba gear jumped in at the 2.6-square-mile reef complex, shooting video and collecting samples. They found more than 60 species of seaweeds, 12 of which had never been recorded in Oregon, and one that's possibly new to science. Visit http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/oregon/about/art27958.html for more information.
