Recorded on January 31st. 1911. At family gatherings, this was the song my Grandfather would sing, he always called my Grandmother "Dolly".

  • I am sorry I have been late in my reply to you, but I thank you now for your attempt in tying to help me find this recording. It was very kind of you. But no, I'm sorry its not the one on the dvd set The Great War, Its on the first dvd, about 3 mins in. It s the best version I have ever heard. I think what I will do is upload the clip, and challange everyone to try and name it.

    lol

Again, many thanks for your kind suggestion.

    Best regards, Mike

  • @boxermike7 It could be G.H. Elliot?

  • Very moving. Thank you so much.

  • Does anyone know who sings the version of this song from the soundtrack of 'The Great War' documentry, it's on the first episode, at the begining. It's the best version I have heard, and would like to know if a sound track is available as on the dvd, they only sing the first two lines.
