Queensland celebrated its sesquicentenary in 2009, 150 years of independence since separating from New South Wales.
As part of the year long celebrations, the Queensland Government organized a steam train to travel the length and breadth of the state, visiting more than 30 communities.
It's Queensland Day, and the oldest operating steam locomotive in the Southern Hemisphere, A10 No. 6, is seen operating a special train along the first railway line built in Queensland, from Ipswich to Grandchester.
A10 6 was built by Neilson and Company in Glasgow in 1865 and now spends its time as a centerpiece of the Workshops Rail Museum in North Ipswich.
