Emsworth solar boat - Hampshire Guitar Orchestra

The Solar Boat gives regular tours around the conservancy area of Chichester Harbour. Powered by batteries that are charged by sunlight, the solar boat is a glorious silent way to travel. The photos here were taken on one of the trips round Emsworth, in a tour that takes in the Oyster Beds and commanding views of Portsmouth and the Spinnaker Tower, Hayling, Chichester and the South Downs.

The soundtrack is a pre-concert soundcheck by the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra (HAGO) in 2007, warming up their ensemble for their concert at Park Place Pastoral Centre Wickham, a concert that raised over £1000 for charity.

This arrangement of the Hornpipe from Handel's Water Music is in eight parts, for alto, prime, bass and contra guitars, by HAGO's Musical Director, Derek Hasted
