I was there. The police showed up outside with flatbed trucks and set up barricades surrounding the whole area. The cops went on a total rampage, smashing heads, smashing businesses windows, dragging people from cars, etc. Even the local newscasts at the time were calling it a police riot...questioning their tactics, etc.
