@28mistert fuck yes.

@lucaslmgv No fuzz about it really. High output (hot) pick ups push the front end of the amp (assuming it's a tube amp) which makes it break up faster, as well as a higher volume than a low output pick up. The pick ups on the jazzmaster are typically low-mid output and it woks just fine like that.

What's the fuzz about high and low output? I don't know much about guitars..

@lucaslmgv Strats are very versatile, but i never dig them, well I think a Jazzmaster could be it for u, maybe changing the bridge pickup to a higher output pickup might even be better, Stock neck + Curtis Novak WRHB bridge would be good IMO.

@kevinmontano9 OLYMPIC WHITE I believe with a tort guard.

I like the sound clean enough to play Johnny Marr's riffs (the smiths) but I want something versatile enought to play the raw riffs of Neil Young and black keys. I'm also a big fan of Pink Floyd(yeah, stratocaster, I know, but they're pretty darn ugly imo)
-
@invictorium theres an upgrade for that.

@sessorial is it possible to achieve a sound similar to the first 20 seconds on say a jazzmaster modern player or is it all down to the pups/amp?
the intro was very arctic monkeys favourite worst nightmare album sounding :)
