Janelle Gendrano's cover of Elliott Smith at Hillsborough High School's Unplugged II in the spring of 2004. This is my single favorite live performance -- a perfect way to end a night of tributes to the late singer-songwriter, and the perfect coda to the best Unplugged performance in our show's history.

Im sure Elliott would be flattered by all the covers, by the fact that people love his songs enough to take time to learn them. Elliott covered songs every time i saw him play. Thirteen? Do you think Alex Chilton thought Elliott ruined his song and should just play originals? No. Im always pleased to see people posting covers, good and bad. Its a wonderful thing.

So now stop being such a negative cunt and start seeing the bigger picture.
