My first proper video of part of route 94 in the daytime! Most times I've caught it has been after work and in the dark!!
This is aboard Scania vehicle VX09 NBM forming the 1300 to Gloucester.
18/11/2010
GOLD 94 + CHELTENHAM PROMENADE - Rotunda - Westal Green - GCHQ benhall - Arle Court - Staverton- Churchdown - Longlevens - GLOUCESTER
Every 10 mins 0700-1900
The video begins with the vehicle sitting at the bus stop prior to departure. The driver then starts the bus and we sit at the stop for another few seconds or so before departing. I am sat at the back of the bus on the lower deck so give you just shots of the interior until departure.
Uopn leaving the stop , we pass Stagecoach In Gloucester Dennis Trident MG02 EGX forming the 1305 service to Gloucester via Churchdown Village and Innsworth. This vehicle used to belong to the cheltenham fleet and was allocated to the University services before the gold operation and the 94U operation began. It was cascaded to Gloucester with the other tridents when the scania fleet began operations.
We then head up the Promenade , passing the glorious looking Imperial Gardens, before seeing the magnificent Queens Hotel in all its splendour , and the popular Chasserie Blanc restaurant. We then pass montpellier gardens before coming to a halt at the next bus stop at the rotunda.
Here, I give you a view of the rotunda building (used by Lloyds TSB) and we also see one of the Bennett's fleet on the Park and ride service from Arle Court (service 511).
As we leave the stop , we see an ambulance with sirens wailing heading towards the hospital, which is a minutes drive from this location.
We then turn right at the roundabout, pass through the traffic lights (passing Lypiatt Road on our left) and joining Lansdown Road. We travel down this road for a minute before coming to Westal Green filling station. We come onto the roundabout (the filling station is on the roundabout itself, or IS the roundabout if you want it simply), and the bus comes to a halt at the stop opposite.
We then head off again , through the next set of lights (passing Hatherley Road on our left) travelling down Lansdown Road before slowing for the next set of lights. We then move again , stopping at the bus stop ooutside the police headquarters for a passenger to alight.
We then move again , with views of the opposite carriageway (sort of) before looking back to the left of the bus and seeing Dean Close school.
We then slow to let Stagecoach In Cheltenham Dennis Pointer Dart Euro 3 VU06 HZX out on the junction , which is forming a D service from Warden Hill to Bishops Cleeve via Hatherley, Rail Station, Town Centre and the racecourse..
(Service D every ten minutes).
We then come to the shell filling station on the junction of Lansdown Road and Gloucester Road where this video ends.
it cant get any better than this?....surely ! perfection
