  • @martinkoklingacik It's not dark. It's deep. It's so deep that it's dark. I would let both my hands amputated if that meant Shostakovich could write another symphony. I am not joking.

  • I have never yet acquired an ear for Shos´music but it is obvious, even from these photograpohs that he was " quite something ". Not a happy camper, though.

    Shavkatikk when does Scnittke appear in the tape ?

  • Every time my pupils profess to know that all classical/orchestral music is 'dull' or 'boring', I close the curtains, put old footage of Stalingrad on the big monitor & play this full volume. Usually does the trick...
