Contains minor spoilers for Mass Effect 2 regarding the Council and Anderson.

Uploaded for a post on the technical forums to show the bug I was describing.

  • I just want to say that you are not alone and it's a graphical bug called "Z-fighting". It's a low-level software thing and only devs can fix it for you, in cost of performance. It distracts me as well and annoys me as well. Bioware got by far the most z-fighting in their games and they don't seem to care about it... even their pre-recorded videos have flickerings in it lol

  • Good to know I'm not alone, but it's a shame if it's such a software glitch. It doesn't crop up often, but when it does I can't help but just stare at it.

  • Has anyone ever let the council live and chose Udina? No, right?

  • same issue here, is there a fix??

  • @Zekzt Forced AA seems to remove also certain visual effects. Like the displacement in infiltrator's cloack.

  • I have to say i just get used to it, maybe you will call me ME fanatic but imho the game is so damn perfect in the term of stroyline and great movie-style cut scenes + dynamic scenes that i can forgive BioWare such small glitch, not to mention ME2 is greatly optimised, i never get down below 50-60 fps even in epic battle scenes, its running smoth on max settings [pity they didnt implemented AA, forced AA thou give 30-40 fps slowdowns in some areas, so it sux yhis way]

  • Same problem here, except when it does happen, it's usually a lot more noticeable, with my heavy weapon's textures flickering and the eyeball models of characters clipping through their head.

Very annoying, but doesn't happen too often and in combat it really isn't noticeable.
