Shenae's Cochlear implant switch on at Sydney's Shepherd Centre
On 29th Nov 2008, 6th month old Shenae had a Cochlear implant at Sydney Childrens Hospital, performed by Dr Phillip Chang.
On 15th Dec 2008 the implant was switched on for the first time at Sydneys the Shepherd Centre , the early intervention centre for hearing impaired children.
What follows is the footage from the tests used to assess whether the operation was a success.
beautifull, my son is 6 months old and has sensuri-nural bilateral profound deafness in both ears, this is a beautifull thing to see and gives us so much hope! :)
thankyou! :)

@MrLukestroud22
aw. glad you like it.
The implants had to be removed briefly due to an infection about a year ago (something to do with her head changing shape because she was so young when they went in i believe), but they went back in quickly (less than a month i think).
but i now have a beautiful, chatter box, nearly 3 yr old, niece who hears, speaks & signs well and takes her 'ears' off when she doesn't like what your saying (usually 'no' ;-p)
best wishes
