This is the story of Floyd Brown, a mentally disabled man from Wadesboro, North Carolina, who was held in the Dorothea Dix mental hospital, WITHOUT TRIAL, for 14 years by the State of North Carolina under the charge of murder. He repeatedly failed his mental evaluations in order to see if he was fit to stand trial. Floyd, as you can see in the video, is able to hold a simple conversation, but he is not able to do much else. He "confessed" to murder in a detailed, six page statement (read it here: http://media2.newsobserver.com/smedia/2010/08/06/18/FloydConfession.source.pr...), a confession which has roundly been rejected by any and all investigators who have looked at the case. The agent, Mark Isley, was promoted at the State Bureau of Investigation despite the fact that Floyd's confession was widely regarded as a work of fiction. (Source: http://www.myfox8.com/news/sns-ap-nc--testinginnocence-newspaper,0,6938112.story). In addition, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation ignored the uproar about the alleged confession and played it down (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/08/08/1608859/sbi-ignored-warnings-on-confession.html)
It is easy to see that Floyd was an easy target, but in the coming videos you will see that some others were normal every day people like you and me. This is the state I live in. This is the society we live in. We can't tolerate it. These cases need to be known.
I just saw this poor guy on TV. I'm glad he's free.
The real killer and Isley deserve to be punished severely.
