that was an impressive 1 i built 1 once when i was 17 it was slightly bigger that it but the same basic plan only differance was tanned deer hide for the door flap and for the bedding i used grass from a field and made it about 1 foot deep and laid tanned deer hide over it and instead of the blocks for the fire pit i used big rocks which a few were big enough and i chipped a side on them flat as possable so the heat of the fire got them hot and i could cook directly on the flat spot of the rocks

Hey Dave! Thanks for another great video! I've built several primitive shelters in the woods over the years, but I've probably built many more in my mind. One idea I've had for a wiki,(and I'm sure its already been done), is to build an A-frame vestibule onto the entrance. It would make it easier to seal the entrance without the leaves constantly falling down and also provide more storage area,(for firewood during the winter ?)
