I gotta admit I had not heard of the Ustad but when I heard this tune it blew my mind. Wah Ustad ji!!! All artists are great for keeping our culture alive despite fundamentalist onslaught.

Damn we have talent in India as well, but they all run after money, sing pathetic Bollywood songs, which are a "safe bet" and shortcut to fame. so they do not dare to experiment. And conversely Bollywood has enough clout and influence to captivate the attention of the majority, making people believe that what is being played is the best stuff!
Is it that music industry power is less hegemonic in Pakistan, which leads to such diverse and authentic pure at the same time experimental masterpieces?

The language is Braj bhasha (dehaati zubaan or country language) spoken in the central India.
See this is what confluence of cultures does. After all we all are humans just demarcated by lines drawn on maps and minds. Lines that don't really exist in reality.
