I totally agree with all of the above comments. I grew up in Britain listening to this fantastic voice and the great songs - and still go back to the 60's and my life in Britain every time I listen to her. So glad that there are so many other Helen Shapiro fans - we all know great music when we hear it right? Yep - these young so-called singers who are huge stars today will most definitely NOT be around 50 years from now.

Awesome raredoop! Helen and I are the same age and when she appeared on the scene in 1961 she completely won me over with her powerful voice and sincere personality. Thanks for the opportunity of listening to talent of half a century ago! She reflected my, and most of my friends opinions: don't treat us like children. Inevitably I became a hypocrite when I had my own children!

Ah, thank you so much. This was my first taste of Sixties rebellion. "The best years of my life are those when I am young.....gonna have my fun....my point of view has gotta be known". Harmless by today's standards, but that was a time when kids were seen and not heard. Then came the first questioning of authority, and then the whole youth revolt of the 60s. Helen was my heroine. This takes me right back.
