Implosion is when an object collapses. We used cans in our experiment, because they were soft, and easy to heat up.
When the fire heats up the fire and air inside, the water vapours and air particles are pushed outside, creating low pressure inside the can. Since water is cold, and applies more atmospheric pressure than air, the can collapses. There are two reasons why. The first, is because the can has a low pressure inside, the outside pressure will cause it to collapse. Second, because particles contract when it is cooled, the can tries to suck in air and whatever there is available through all openings. When the water is too heavy, it collapses since there isn't anything else. Contracted particles take up less space, so the can changes shape in order to have balanced pressure in and outside the can.
lol "hes gonna try lighting it without killing us all! lol 5/5

wrong... It is due to the diffrence in atmospheric pressure and there will be thin air inside the can do to its heat increase. Thus showing how much force the atmospher exerts. When you seal it off the pressure changes making it implode. Also it sank do to density not air.... lol little kids
