@mikle95 I'm a singer too and I'm extremely afraid of voice loss :( I admire that man so much, He is so strong. I wouldn't be able to live without my voice. Since I had a customer at work who spoke with a device, I'm even more thankful God gave me a voice.

how old are you?? wow im scared i use my vocal chords alot and i dont want to mess them up. in heavy metal they scream i use my diaprahm to scream if i scream with my throat i can mess up my vocal chords and if i dont do it correctly i can lose my voice and oh god that would be so bad:(((((

Are u gonna be able to eventually? I hope so, I am a singer as well, and sometimes I can hit high notes but sometimes I can't, I've been taking lots of lessons and tryied to follow the technique like breathing from diafragm, but nothing seems to work, if i wanna hit a high note i have to scream, im worried because lately i sound cracked like mariah carey (i am a male) and suddenly i have a whistle in my register that didn't have before... .. how do you know if u get vocal nodules?

why do the vocal cords sound raw and scratchy sometimes without illness or strain but last i1 day or 2 after i smoke .. i smoke since i was 12 and now i am 16... i can't speak now very well with an indoor voice with out it sounding scratchy/raw.. it does not hurt but it just goes this way after i smoke or i just am this way for a week or 3 at a time the indoor voice is impossible with me... i go raw/scratchy sounding... what do u think this could be... i need your unprofessional opinion..:)

Hi,

there must be nodules on your vocal cords which make you not to be able to sing high anymore. This might be the result of singing out of your range. I have two nodules on my vocal cords which prohibit the vocal cords to touch each other. In my case, I don't suffer much pain in the throat but I feel some irritation inside.

Yes, I also feel desperate because I cannot sing high anymore :(

I have been suffering from throat pain for almost 7 months because I sang so high everyday for two weeks. Like you i cant eat diary, drink alcohol, smoke etc. I was wondering what to do. Since you have the same problem please give me some advice. The doctor once told me that I have voice disorder. But if i have voice disorder then why does it hurt? I am really frustrated. I have visited 7 doctors including one in Dubai none could help.

Singing outside of your range does not cause cancer, as far as I know. (I'm not a doctor, but am familiar with the larynx and some of the problems that can occur.

I am now also suffering such problem inside my throat. I am sure it is the vocal cord. I overloaded the cords by growling and singing so high notes... imitating the genius such as rob halford, bruce dickinson, michael kiske etc.. and now I am feeling pain in the throat....I don't smoke and drink alcohol...Can singing outside of one's range cause throat cancer? OR just damage the cords? I am a bit worried about that cancer, now. Could you please reply me?
