@Razear And by the way, I wasn't being a dick earlier...just bustin' your chops. All in fun. Thanks for the tips btw.
-
@Razear I see. Basically it's too much of a good thing in that, while it's good at dissipating heat, too much will just slow the transfer of said heat? Makes sense. I'll keep that in mind when I upgrade to a better CPU Cooler.

@300Z31 It actually is lol. I've had numerous occasions where I've booted up with too much thermal paste to see sky rocketing temperatures. Too much thermal paste has a detrimental affect on your proc similar to what would happen if you were to boot up without any at all.
-
@Razear I beg to differ. Either you're eating some HUGE ass rice, or tiny tiny peas.
But anyway, I knew what you meant. Just bustin' your chops. It did seem like a lot...but is a little too much really a bad thing?
-
@300Z31 Well both would be approximately the same size...the point I was trying to make was that only a very small amount is actually required.
-
@Razear lol @ "...a pea sized drop, the size of a grain of rice..." Which is it? Pea sized? Or grain-of-rice sized?
which cpu cooler is that?

You're putting on too much thermal paste. A pea sized drop the size of a grain of rice would be ideal and sufficient.

no way man haha there is no thermal paste on the fan you want more paste then the size of a grain of rice other wise the heat is not going to transfer good at all between the cpu and heat sink.
However i should have used something better to spread it with.

Do I have to put the "termo" paste on the CPU?

Its Thermal Paste, And Yes in order to get your cooler to sufficiently keep your CPU cool.
