Why would you reimburse anyone for the tax they spend in your country. Where is the logic behind that?

maybe it was one of those programs nobody knew about and had tremendous paperwork for no benefit. I think it was the right choice.

um, because we (the tourists) also get taxed on the way back IN to our own countries. When I visited Canada, I used to buy electronics (support canadian retail) and pay my 19% tax on it coming back into Germany. Now that I have to pay PST and GST AND the 19% VAT tax, theres really no point in shopping in Canada anymore - therefore, they lose my business, which isnt really good for anyone,

Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying 6% tax when I head north for a vacation. If it helps you guys out, then why not? You probably pay sales tax when you come down here too, so it's only fair.
