Typical city street in Dharan Bazaar, Nepal

This footage was taken around the corner from our hotel: Dreamland. This was one of the tackiest, coolest little hotels we have ever stayed in. The scene appeared somewhat barbaric and primitive.It reminded of the streets of Kabul. The people were very friendly and respectful. I think we were the only Westerners there at the time. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay while in this town. We felt safer here than in America. It was interesting to walk down this street at night when there was no electricity. We spent about 3 days there in Dec 07.

this is old clip... now its been nice paved clean road... almost 90% of Dharan's road has been paved... thx for sharing this video
