These are British military snowshoes. They're lightweight, easy to use and are perfect for urban and suburban areas where agility in tight spaces is a must.

The aluminum traction v-bars on the bottom afford an excellent grip on hard snow and ice even on hills.

They're bear paw style and are made of tubular metal, nylon harness, aluminum and rivets.

They're perfect for winter camping, hiking, ice fishing and outdoors activities.

  • I was going to ask you where you got them so others could buy them if interested but you can use Google, I found one Canadian store called Hero Army Surplus in Ontario for $49.45. I have never ordered from them, I'm in Nova Scotia and have yet to see these around here.

  • @Yoshin9 That's where I bought them. I paid $75 though. Hmm.

  • @envirosponsible It's good when a trusted person buys from an (to me) unknown store. Sadly, sometimes we buy something from a store and it later goes on sale, but if we wait for a sale it may never come. The quoted price came from their website. If it is a case of store price not matching web price you might be able to argue with the owner for a partial refund. If it's just a case of buying it before it came on sale you are out of luck.

  • @Yoshin9 I bought them a couple of years ago and I'm still satisfied with them. Even at $75 per pair. Plus they're a fellow local business owner so no biggie. Now if it was a big box store...

  • @envirosponsible Hey guys i just checked that website and from what I can tell they no longer stock them, any ideas??

  • it seems like you can just walk on the snow with your regular boots/shoes

  • if the snow aint too deep dont wear them it wastes calories

  • i could make my own way more better and beautiful

  • Nice pair. I wonder why they didn't just line the bottom completely with canvas to give it move function for its purpose?

  • Could of bought some MSR Snowshoes for not much more.

  • I'm in New Mexico; and I went snow-shoeing for the first time a few weeks ago. Rented a pair from REI. One thing I noticed about those long ones: If you sink deep into the snow it's really hard to turn around. I found that the teeth on the bottom of the shoe are usually more useful than the increased footprint area of the shoe. Anyway, love your vids.

  • @Yoshin9 Yep that was it. Thx for the info.

  • I've got a pair of the old fashioned lacquered type. $50 used. They work excellent in deep snow but as you said turning can be an issue. Those little ones look good for when you're running from FEMA and you have to be nimble.
