The Park Lounge in Kings Park was the scene this weekend for the first annual St Baldricks Fundraiser. This event raised close to $32000 in a effort to raise awareness and funds to cure kids cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowships. Each participant solicits pledges from friends, after which receives a free head shaving courtesy of the Kings Park Barber Shop!
I was just hosting the event, claims Park Lounge owner and former NHL Hockey Star Jim Pavese as he rubs his newly shaven head, Next thing I know Im getting clipped! Its all for a good cause, whats more they raised closed to $1200 for my head alone! .

In nine years, events have taken place in 18 countries and 48 US states, raising over $50 million, and shaving more than 72,000 heads. Thousands of brave, bold and bald shavees step up to be shorn year after year, becoming walking billboards for the cause of childhood cancer research!

I've known Jimmy Pavese for 10 years....he came out to Youngstown, Ohio with an Islanders signed jersey for one of our youth hockey players who had leukemia. He has a heart of gold.
