In less than 6 months from install it's getting so bad it needs to be replaced. Installing floors since 1992 and I've never seen a product fail this bad. The material is not suitable in basements that have humidity. This basement regularly has an RH of 50% To make matters worse the jury is still out as to weather or not they are going to stand behind their product.

  • Labor cost for installing ceramic/stone is huge not the material. To be fair I have only had problems with Traffic Master at my home where I installed 200 sq ft. but have installed over 2300 sq ft of this product with no problems. The problem seams appeared where the floor is not perfectly level the concrete pour has almost like a smooth wave to it but it may be humidty in the basement which is often around 50%. Not sure which. Allure refunded my money.

  • THATS WHY FOLKS YOU SHOULD NOT BE SOO CHEAP AND BUY ANYTHING FROM HOME DEPOT OR LOWES! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! HOME DEPOT OR LOWES WERE NEVER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING! PAY MORE AND GET A DECENT PRODUCT FROM A LOCAL RETAILER!

  • @lilhusy818 Reasons for buying this product: Didn't like the look of tile in a bedroom, quieter than wood, not cold on your feet like tile, easier to install than tile and wood, suppose to do well below grade in basements which rules out real wood and laminates.

there is almost no waste like sheet vinyl. At 1.88 a sq ft. its not cheaper than many products. Im thinking I should have gone with Earth Werks a glue down product or a good sheet vinyl that looks like wood.

  • Yikes! Any idea if the quality of the Allure Ultra (click installation) is as bad as the regular adhesive based Allure? I'm in the process of renovating a house that I'm going to be moving into and I was considering the Ultra for areas like the kitchen where moisture could be an issue.

  • @xargos Honestly I havent used the Ultra, but traffic master in general is a durable product. I believe without the glued seams you should be fine. You may also look into a product called Earth Werks the advantage here is that if you have a bad tile you can replace it without removing the whole floor. Something almost nothing else can do.

  • WartHog, yeah OK you're right I need to work on a little less Forrest Gump maybe hone down some on the Billy Bob Thornton from sling blade as well. I'll take your criticism as a positive kick in the head...and agree that...there's plenty of room for improvement. And I will give that more than ...Ready... Fire... Aim

  • Home Depot told us to place a moisture barrier down, then this flooring on top.

Also, a 48 hour period to acclimate to the house - before putting it down.

They also sell the more expensive CLICK floors that don't need glue.

  • @lilhusy818 Dude it has nothing to do with being cheap it has to do with homeowners not knowing how to install a tile floor in the right manner as it is requested by the manufacture, I planning to install it on concret slab within my home. (1) first I will be seal the entire first floor prior to installation (2) open each box and let the tiles acclimate to the house and floor tempt for 3 days (3) then heat up the glue strip from begning, lay middle, lay then end.lay repeat process. easy

  • I have always done it this way and have had no issues what so ever with any type of tile...good luck to everyone that is planning to use this product

  • Personally myself , I would've heated up the glue strip just a little with either a hair dryer or heat gun but in small amount for example: in the beginning middle, and ending and lay it down as you heat it up, this process help the adhesive join to each other in a better manner it will also preventing it from lifting up from the glue strip seams, just be sure to acclimate the tiles to the rooms temperture 66 to 70 degree 3 days prior to laying them down, open up each box within the room.

  • @Taxminia0311 I know! It is awesome easy flooring, and good lookin', with a great price point for what you get. I am certain that anyone who has had problems with it just did not take the time to do it correctly. We have several rooms in Allure, and are doing another full floor in it now. I used to work at Depot, and we had LOTS of landlords buy it for their rentals so they could avoid replacing carpet all the time, and they all seemed to love it and come back for more...

  • @miseryhaha I should know I just installed the vynal tile w/grout around it in my last apartment and my Landlord was suprise in the installation and the durability, it turn out amazing dude if you was to see it you would've agree totally w/me.

  • @alvinshep51 concrete MUST be sealed b4 laying floor. Caulk after laying floor. Seams must be rolled well, and the temps must be adhered to. If all that is done, you, like me, will have no problems.

  • @Riliy111 Have had it in since it came out years ago with no problems because we installed it correctly.

  • @nean1220 so...very...wrong. Concrete should be sealed b4 laying floor. I have sold and used this type of floor for years. It has instruction manual but no one ever reads it...
