Toe touches are a simple abdominal exercise.
Your hip flexors which usually compensate for the rectus abdominis when people perform abs exercises improperly are already flexed.
Therefore your abs go through a full contraction.
If your neck muscles are straining for this exercise, you can support your head with one hand while you reach with the other.
Don't make things more difficult than they need to be. If you are a beginner start with simple, effective exercises and progress to more difficult for best results.
