Ronald Hazlehurst (13 March 1928 1 October 2007) was an English composer and conductor who, having joined the BBC in 1961, became its Light Entertainment Musical Director.

He composed the theme tunes for many well known British sitcoms and shows of the 1970s and 1980s, including Are You Being Served?, Last of the Summer Wine, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, To the Manor Born and Yes Minister and the most very brilliant "The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin"

David Nobbs books were a terrific read and the series, well, I use to miss gigs to watch it. The raffish charm of Leonard Rossiter and Doc Morrissey's take on placebo.

99 (Not Out)....Shame she didn't get her century.

  • Excellent, but isn't it the Fall and Rise, not the Rise and Fall?
