Brilliant! Yes we definitely can afford to subsidize a new energy infrastructure. Take CTL for example(coal to liquid) we can provide loan guarantees and tax breaks and incentives for the construction of facilities to provide 100% of our oil consumption. Combine that with same programs for ALL Bio-Fuels and we can have all of these facilites up within a year and become a net exporter of oil! This will change the entire world power dynamic and be the deathblow to islamic nuclear terrorism!
Althought he has finally come around on renewables, he does not seem to have done anything in the past to discourage either Bush administrations from marching lock-step with big oil and big coal. Also, remember, his Contract with America, where it was "good" to shut down the the government, to dismantle it. Not that he believed his own crap, but he has no credibility now. He should save the lies for his mistress/es.

I agree with you there. I wish every politician had his innate and enthusiastic interest in such a wide variety of topics.
