I take you along for another one of my favorite things to do; Fossil huntin'! I also stumble across a couple of ancient flint pieces no doubt manipulated by primitive man. This stream comes from a small cave that I don't show on video. It's a neat little passage that only flows during wet weather. Years ago my mom found two pieces of worked flint that reminds of a fish hook, although they almost certainly had a different purpose. I like to come here every now and then to see what else might be there. It's one of those places where you can feel the untold primitive history.

  • Cool finds! They are also all over the creekbeds around where I live. We search for them quite often in the summer, and I have quite a bit in my collection. My 7yr old daughter is the master at finding the microscopic pieces! lol... You are right, after a while a person can train their eyes to pick out the good scores! Great find on the worked piece of flint! I found two arrowhead points last friday while working in a field. It was a good day! Thanks for sharing, be safe....JP.

  • @jjaayypp963 Seems like I use to find more when I was a kid. Fossils and points...

  • @hobbexp I wonder what folks would think if I wore a fossil necklace... probably not much different than they think now, actually.

  • Nice one, i found a nice fossilised Sea Urchin just the other day, it's sat on top of a fossilised baby Scallop shell and both are attached to fossilised coral and were found 500ft ASL on the side of the hill, tons tons of fossilised coral up there, now flint tools i get in my back garden, last one i found was a neolithic scraper, but ive found all sorts of flakes and scrapers in the past and even had the privilege to hold a hand axe no that long ago that was approx 500,000 years old

  • @maveraver It's funny how we woodsy fellows all seem to share the same sort of interests. Glad to hear from you, Kep!
