  • ok the elise has 138 lb ft of torque available at 6800 r.p.m. while the tesla roadster has 295 lb. ft. at 0.0000000000000000000000001 r.p.m. which one is faster in a drag race hmmm.. electric is the future and tuners will soon need to be electronic engineers to mod their cars. no more stepped up turbos, just step up transformers

  • i think the regular elise, is really a regular elise with only 122hp... and an unskilled driver on board...

the electric elise has like 252hp, if its tesla based...

    so... yeah...great comparison

  • @purpleGoAhead Cool idea but the lightning only goes 300Km from what I've read. And EVs don't make jet engine noises unless they are poorly built, the leaf and volt both are much quieter than their gm and nissan petrol brother. Low center of gravity has virtually nothing to do with speed, and will never affect a cars 0-60 time, weight is weight. Top speed is not the point of the EV and not needed, lotus tried a 2 speed with to no avail. The average EV would take years to pay off the gas it saves

  • @marshknute look up the "lightning gt" - fully charged in 10 min, ready for 400km range, they do make a noise - like from a jet-plane and yeah, maybe they have more weight, but you gan stuff all the weight down REALLY low, for a low centre of gravity = faster anyway and for high top-speed you'd probably need a 2-speed gearbox, but not 6 or 7 like the cars nowadays... to the point they cost a lot; well they do, but think about your cars gasoline - that's 1000's of $ every year you just burn

  • @marshknute this is early generation vehicle...give the racing companies a few years to work their engineering mastery and world going electric cars son.!! BOOOM! BUY UTILITY COMPANIES YOU BIRD BRAINS!! I LOVE YOU ALL! EVEN IF YOU ARE MORONS!

  • you got served Lotus Elise!

  • @zeroenergylifestyle What's not to love: they require several hours to recharge, the range isn't up to par with gasoline cars, they don't make a good noise (or any noise), battery powered e-cars weigh more than gasoline counterparts (heavy battery bank), they cost more, and they have slower top speeds. Other than that, they are great.

  • There are lots of videos of electric cars beating gas hogs. I like the White Zombie, too. Some people just don't get it still. They are just so used to thinking one way they can't easily reconnect their cerebral networks. That's so sad 'cause e-cars are cleaner and smoother and more quiet too ! You don't need tune-ups and there's no regular replacements parts money going to land fills. Plus there is the added incentive of not sending trillions of dollars to Saudi Arabia. What's not to Love?

  • electro motors have massive torque so it coul be true

but gas enginse rule cus im pretty shure he cant keep up the races whithout recharging battery every time

  • even if it is real....the electric would probably pit every 4-5 laps to replace battery
