Digging a Pond Part 4

The green D7 has a Corps Of Engineers data plate, 6T, built 1948.

Wind was blowing like crazy.

  • Oddly enough, the primary purpose of the project was not to dig a pond, but to build a big earth bank at the other end of the site for shovels to dig into.

This is the HCEA museum site, which hosts the HCEA international convention approximately every other year.

Much of the work is being done by the Operating Engineers training program.

  • I was there Saturday and Sunday.

  • Very Cool!

This is what I did for T. Boone Pickens on his Mesa Vista Ranch in Pampa Texas for 3 years. Dig a lake...dig a creek connecting it to the next lake...and on and on and on.

Must be nice to have enough money to burn a wet elephant

  • looks good!

    Thanks.

  • Yes, it was open to the public. It was the HCEA Convention. I found out about it on the internet just by chance and attended myself.

  • Pond, thats more like a lake!

Was this something the public could watch, a lot of the machinery seems to be vintage?
