I asked the MHRA Classifier a couple of questions about unlicensed medicines e.g. honey products and garlic products. I also asked about brass doorknobs, lemons etc. and what shopkeepers or manufacturers are allowed to say about their value to health in fighting and preventing infections. This was the result!!! It was impossible to read through the reply without giggling so I have included some of that too.

MHRA stands for Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority. It is a UK government agency fully funded by the pharmaceutical industry who have to pay for a Marketing Authorisation (product licence). Many natural items cannot and need not be patented and therefore are unlicensed.
