KNTV-11, San Jose, California signed on September 12, 1955. (I was almost six months old!)
I produced this video for our 25th anniversary party in 1980.
Let me apologize in advance for the quality of the audio. I'm surprised any of this survived.
Part 1 includes the last known surviving footage of Record Hop, KNTV's live, local dance party that featured area personality Frank Darien. This footage is of the last Record Hop in 1965, hosted by future KNTV program director Stew Park, and recorded on 2" B&W videotape courtesy of San Jose State University.
Strip shows like "Naked City?!" What was that!?

I was on Record Hop once. I have Hocus Pocus's autograph from the grand opening of Tropicana Village Shopping Center in late 50's or early 60's (can't remember the exact year). Later in 1969 I was in SF in a hotel elevator and Frank Darien got on the next floor...he was plastered and asked me for my number. My date was definitely not impressed....haha.

Man I remember Hocus Pocus when I lived in Monterey in 1968. Any surviving tapes of that show?

This is cool its sad that the only thing kntv did for their golden (50 year) anniversary was one small news report from their regular newscast
