  • It's really not great. The luggage here was way too heavy. I would take half as much next time. The back of the bike was too heavy so the steering was light, which meant it ran wide out of corners and didn't feel all too safe about triple digit speeds.

Next time I would take less, distribute it lower around the bike (soft panniers) and probably adjust the preload on the shock to try and compensate for the extra weight.

Still it was great fun and I can't wait to do it again!

  • this is about gadgets no a ride. get on the bike & ride. be adventurous. camera, sat nav & huge bag - for god's sake get on with it. bikes come well equipped for most journeys. don't spend hours telling people what to do. learn languages to communicates with locals & explore while you can. it's a piece of cake to ride in europe no matter for how long. i get irritated with guys get busy preparing but never do the real thing. it's like printing a nice business card before you start doing business.

  • How does that huge back-pack affect aerodynamics and handling....i know how...but is it bad?

  • Nice one!
